Abortion
NARAL Pro-Choice New York advocates for every woman’s right to safe, legal and affordable abortion. A woman’s right to abortion has been under attack since Roe v. Wade was decided in 1973, in which the Supreme Court legalized the right for women in the U.S. to obtain an abortion. Most recently, on April 18th, 2007, the Supreme Court upheld the Federal Abortion Ban, which outlaws certain second-trimester abortions and does not include any exception for when a woman’s health is threatened.
