Protecting a Woman’s Right to Abortion

Every woman should have the right to safe, legal abortion care regardless of age, race, ethnicity or income.
As one of the first states in the nation to take the groundbreaking step of legalizing abortion in 1970 – three years before Roe v. Wade – New York led the way for the reproductive rights movement. Today, as anti-choice forces attempt to chip away at reproductive rights, defending the right to choose is no less critical.

We work to:

Pass the Women's Equality Act
The Women's Equality Act is a critical piece of legislation that would codify the rights protected by Roe v. Wade into state law and ensure that New York remains a leader for reproductive rights.

Expose crisis pregnancy centers
Crisis pregnancy centers (CPCs) are anti-choice organizations that pose as legitimate reproductive health care facilities in order to intentionally deceive and misinform women about abortion and birth control.
