Sotomayor is grilled on abortion and gun rights

Abstract: In her ongoing confirmation hearings, Supreme Court nominee Judge Sonia Sotomayor has not taken an affirmative stance on many controversial issues, including abortion.  While Sotomayor refused to answer some questions about late-term abortions, claiming that the queries were too “abstract,” she further avoided branding herself by citing “court precedent” and “settled law.”
