"Abortion Pill" Hasn't Broadened Abortion Access
Abstract: When the "abortion pill," RU-486, was approved by the FDA in 2000, many hoped it would help increase access to early abortion. However, new research suggests that the abortion pill has not improved the geographic availability of abortion because most providers who perscribe RU-486 also offer surgical abortion services and are located in urban areas.
