Court rejects Pa. buffer law on abortion clinics
November 2, 2009, The Associated PressCourt rejects Pa. buffer law on abortion clinics Abstract: A federal appeals court in Pittsburgh struck down an ordinance that created two types of buffer zones around abortion clinics. The law bans protesters from standing within 15 feet of entrances but also makes them stand 8 feet from clients in a 100-foot buffer around entrances. While alone either restriction would be legal, the court ruled that together they violate the free speech rights of the protesters.
