NYC Women Unite Against Stupak-Pitts Amendment

Abstract: Senator Kirsten Gillibrand blogs about a press conference held on November 16 with New York City pro-choice leaders who are speaking out against the Stupak-Pitts Amendment in the House health care bill. The blog includes a video and transcript of Sen. Gillibrand’s remarks. The amendment, she says, “goes beyond current law and limits womens' ability to purchase abortion coverage with their own money, disproportionately affecting low income women who are most likely to seek coverage through the exchange.”
