November 23, 2009, The New Yorker Not Covered Abstract: Jeffery Toobin comments on the marginalization of abortion as a health care procedure in the US. Summarizing the implications of the Stupak amendment, Toobin states, “Today, most policies cover abortion; in a post-Stupak world, they probably won’t. With a health-care plan that is supposed to increase access and lower costs, the opposite would be true with respect to abortion.”
