Republican Convention Comes to NYC
NARAL Pro-Choice New York Launches Ad Campaign Highlighting Difference Between Pataki, Bloomberg, Giuliani and Bush
Days before Republicans from across the nation come to New York City, NARAL Pro-Choice New York announced the launching of a subway ad campaign highlighting how out of touch President George W. Bush is with New York by spotlighting the difference between his relentless opposition to a woman’s right to choose and the pro-choice stands of prominent New York Republicans.
Republican delegates and subway riders across the city will be reminded that President Bush differs greatly with the pro-choice position taken by Governor Pataki, Mayor Bloomberg and former Mayor Giuliani. The ad campaign commenced today and will run throughout the convention.
“President Bush is out-of-touch with the values of New Yorkers, both Republicans and Democrats, when it comes to protecting a woman’s right to make private medical decisions. In the coming days we will seek to remind Americans how extreme President Bush has been in his effort to reverse a woman’s right to choose,” said Kelli Conlin, Executive Director of NARAL Pro-Choice New York.
“If the organizers of the Republican National Convention have their way we will hear very little about how the Bush Administration has sought to erode Roe v. Wade. There will be lots of talk about freedom. Our job is to make sure Americans understand how the Bush Administration has aggressively sought to take away the freedom of women to make the most sensitive, private medical decisions,” said Ms. Conlin.
