Reproductive Health and Privacy Protection Act
Calls on legislators to stand in support of women’s health
Statement from Kelli Conlin, President, NARAL Pro-Choice New York:
“The Reproductive Health and Privacy Protection Act will ensure that a woman, her doctor and her family will make critical health decisions, not politicians.
The time has come for legislators on both sides of the aisle to let it be known where they truly stand. You either decide to protect the health of women or you don’t.
No more posturing. Albany lawmakers must defend the right of a woman to make this most private, medical decision.
We are at a moment in history when we can no longer rely on federal laws to protect these most basic rights. Today, Governor Eliot Spitzer made it clear that he will stand up for the health of New York women.
We will be looking to all legislators to support our long held values of protecting women’s reproductive health and privacy. And we will be watching closely.”
