Org Supports Investigation into A1 Medicine Clinic
NARAL Pro-Choice New York is saddened to learn of the death of Alexandra Nunez following an abortion procedure.
As an organization committed to women’s health and rights, we support a full investigation into the A1 Medicine Clinic, reportedly a “one-stop gynecology/plastic surgery clinic,” to determine all the facts in this case.
Considering the extremely rare incidence of abortion complications, (less than 0.3% of women are hospitalized due to complications), Ms. Nunez’s death suggests that something went horribly awry. In a city and state with numerous, reputable providers there’s no reason why any women should have to suffer substandard care. We stand by all our colleagues in the choice community who run health centers dedicated to supporting the health and well-being of women.
